Ukraine President calls snap vote amid fierce clashes

Ukraine's president has called snap elections, as fierce fighting continues between government forces and pro-Russians.

Petro Poroshenko said many current MPs were backers of ousted President Viktor Yanukovych and that the majority of Ukrainians wanted a new parliament.

Meanwhile, there have been reports of fighting in both Ilovays'k and Mariupol in the Donbas region, as Emily Thomas reports.

Correction: This video has been amended to clarify that the unverified footage was purportedly filmed in Ilovays'k on 20 August
