Iceland volcano alert lowered to orange
The Icelandic Meteorological Office has lowered its aviation warning from red to orange near the Bardarbunga volcano.
Earlier on Friday, a fissure eruption about one kilometre long, started spewing lava but Iceland's Met Office says the activity has now subsided.
It means flights in the area over the volcano could soon resume.
Icelandic journalist, Omar Valdimarsson, says people in Iceland are used to volcanoes.
