Juncker: 'Britain is a very important member of the EU'

The UK's Jonathan Hill will oversee financial services, as part of the new 28-strong team announced by European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.

The move has been welcomed by UK Prime Minister David Cameron.

Speaking to the BBC's Gavin Hewitt, Mr Juncker explained why he gave the portfolio to Lord Hill, former leader of the House of Lords, and why the EU could not get involved in the issues surrounding the Scottish referendum.
