Belgium 'at standstill' amid plane, train and bus strike

Planes, buses and trains will be at a standstill in Belgium on Monday amid a protest by unions angry at new austerity measures.

The federal government which took office two months ago is raising the state pension age by two years to 67.

It is also scrapping a planned inflation-linked wage rise for state workers due next year.

Other savings are going ahead in an effort to try and balance Belgium's budget by 2018.
