El Gordo: The man who missed out on biggest jackpot

On the day the draw for the world's biggest lottery, El Gordo, takes place in Madrid with total prize pool of €2.5 billion ($3bn) the BBC speaks to the man who missed out.

The Christmas lottery is an institution in Spain with the biggest jackpot prize being around 400,000 euros and thousands of people expecting to claim a variety of smaller prizes.

In 2011, Costis Mitsokakis, became the only man in his village who did not win as he did not buy a ticket after the sellers passed by his home.

The BBC spoke to him about the experience.
