Germany protests: What is Pegida movement? 60 seconds

The rapid rise of a group calling itself Patriotic Europeans against the Islamisation of the West (Pegida) has alarmed the German government, with Chancellor Angela Merkel calling its leaders racists.

The latest "anti-Islamisation" rally drew a record crowd of 25,000 in Dresden on Monday night. But large anti-Pegida demonstrations took place in other German cities.
