Genocide ruling: Background to the Balkans cases explained

Judges at the highest court of the United Nations are preparing to rule on genocide cases between Croatia and Serbia.

Both are accused of violating the UN's genocide convention, by deliberately trying to kill the other's people during the conflict in the Balkans.

It is the second genocide case to come before the International Court of Justice.
