Sinkhole opens up in Naples following a broken water pipe

A sinkhole has appeared in a suburban part of Naples after a water pipe broke and caused the road to collapse.

The 10m (33ft) chasm has led to the evacuation of over 300 people and emergency workers have been securing the area.

A hole first appeared a few days ago due to ground subsidence but the damaged water pipe and heavy rainfall led to the ground giving way creating a larger crater.
