Crimea annexation anniversary marked in Simferopol

Thousands of people in Crimea are attending attending events planned to mark the Russian takeover of the peninsula last year.

It was absorbed into Russia after a disputed referendum that was boycotted by those loyal to Ukraine, and condemned by the international community.

Olga Ivshina visited Simferopol as the celebrations got under way.
