Armenia 'genocide': Why country marks WWI killings

Diaspora Armenians from around the world are making their way to the country's capital Yerevan to mark the centenary of the mass killings of their ancestors in Ottoman Turkey during WWI.

Turkey has resisted widespread calls for it to recognise the 1915 killings as genocide.

A hundred years on the issue remains a point of contention between the two countries.

Rayhan Demytrie visited the memorial in Yerevan to find out why the event is so important to Armenians.
