Migrant mother gives birth on Italian Navy ship

A baby girl has been born after her mother went into labour while being rescued from a migrant boat in the Mediterranean.

Over the last few days, a record number of migrants have been rescued trying to cross the Mediterranean from north Africa to southern Italy.

The mother, Stephanie Samuel, gave birth to her baby daughter on an Italian Navy ship.

The BBC's Quentin Sommerville visited the mother and baby at a hospital in Sicily.
