Ukraine's Poroshenko bans Soviet symbols

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed into law legislation that bans the use of communist symbols.

It is part of a package of laws designed to make a complete break with the country's Soviet past and bring the country closer to Europe.

But critics say the move severely restricts free speech and will divide society.
