Ireland gay marriage vote: 'Extraordinary scenes' at Dublin Castle

Voters in Ireland are awaiting the outcome of a ballot on whether to legalise same-sex marriage.

Early indications suggest the "yes" vote will win, with prominent "no" campaigners already conceding defeat.

More than three million people were asked whether they wanted to amend the country's constitution to allow gay and lesbian couples to marry.

Chris Buckler reports from Dublin Castle, where large crowds have gathered ahead of the official result.
