Fallon: EU must tackle roots of migration crisis

The defence secretary has said that the European Union must go beyond dealing with just the "symptoms" of the migration crisis and tackle its roots.

Michael Fallon wants to see more intelligence sharing and action to address the problems driving people out of their own countries.

As well as rescuing people, he said foreign aid budgets should be used to help countries which people are leaving.
