Vladimir Putin's tone 'increasingly anti-Western'

The European Union says a new law in Russia that is meant to ban foreign non-governmental organisations that are considered "undesirable" risks crippling civil society.

The law is in line with recent rhetoric from the Kremlin, which increasingly portrays the West as a hostile force.

So far, 12 NGOs have been proposed for blacklisting - but in the current climate, critics warn it could be just the start.
