Calais migrants: Extra police sent to guard Channel Tunnel

France has announced it is sending extra police to guard the Channel Tunnel after at least 1,500 migrants tried to enter the tunnel in Calais on Tuesday night.

At least one man died, the ninth person to die at the terminal this summer.

According to the last official count, around 3,000 migrants were living in makeshift camps in Calais.

Earlier, David Cameron pledged that the UK government would do everything it could to combat the crisis.

Lucy Williamson reports.
