Calais migrant crisis: France to boost security at port

Two mobile units of 120 police officers are to be temporarily posted at Calais to "secure the site", the French Interior Minister has announced.

Bernard Cazeneuve said that the UK would contribute an additional 10m euros (£7m) to secure the Channel Tunnel, on top of the 15m euros (£10m) pledged in September to secure the port of Calais.

"France, which has always assumed its responsibilities, will reinforce existing measures designated to secure the border and the Channel Tunnel", Mr Cazeneuve said.
