Tougher jail terms for human traffickers in England and Wales

From Friday, the maximum sentence for traffickers will rise to life imprisonment, as key parts of the Modern Slavery Act come into force across England and Wales.

The Home Office estimates there could be up to 13,000 people being held as slaves in the UK.
