Paris train attack heroes awarded with France's top honour

France's highest honour has been awarded to four men who overpowered a gunman on a high speed train, averting a suspected terror attack.

The three Americans and one British man were presented with the Legion d'Honneur by the French President, at the Elysee Palace.

Mr Hollande said there would have been carnage on the train if the passengers had not risked their lives by intervening.

Hugh Schofield reports.
