Nigel Farage calls EU 'mad' for accepting so many refugees

Nigel Farage has said the EU "must be mad" to accept so many refugees into Europe, during a speech at the European Parliament.

The UKIP leader said the majority of people coming to the continent were economic migrants not refugees, and claimed there was evidence so-called Islamic State was using the route to bring jihadists to Europe.

Mr Farage was responding to European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker's annual "state of the union" address.
