EU migrant crisis: Member states 'cannot cherry-pick'

Italy's foreign minister Paolo Gentiloni has told the BBC that it must be made clear to EU states that they cannot "cherry-pick" how much responsibility they share for solving the migrant crisis.

Germany's interior minister has suggested his country could withhold aid money from eastern European members if they did not accept their quota of refugees.

Mr Gentiloni said member states should "practise solidarity."
