Migrant crisis: Hungary ambassador to US defends migrant policies

Hungary's policies towards illegal migrants have led to international criticism, as hundreds of refugees remain stranded at the Serbian border.

The government has built a 100-mile long razor-wire fence and is threatening imprisonment for those who try to cross. The aim is to stem the record flow of migrants who have been pouring into the European Union

Hungary's ambassador to the US, Reka Szemerkenyi, tells the BBC's Laura Trevelyan that these measures are meant to protect not just her country but the entire European Union.
