Catalonia votes in regional elections

Catalans go to the polls on Sunday in a regional election that nationalists hope will set them on the road to independence from Spain.

Two separatist parties have joined forces, and are aiming to secure a majority of seats in parliament - 68 out of 135.

The vote has prompted months of debate about history, identity, and the economic risks associated with a break-up.

The BBC's Elaine Jung reports.
