Russia foreign ministry spokesperson sets out Syria plan

President Putin and President Hollande have met in Moscow to agree a joint strategy on how to tackle the so-called Islamic State group operating in Syria.

The leaders of Russia and France said they would share military information, increase the number of air strikes and avoid targeting groups that were fighting on the ground.

Speaking to the BBC after the downing of a Russian warplane by a Turkish jet, Maria Zakharova, the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, set out details for the country's plan of action in Syria, and commented on its relationship with Nato.
