Militia group demands £36m for return of Dutch art collection
A museum in The Netherlands says an ultra-nationalist militia group in Ukraine has asked to be paid 50m euros (£36m) for the return of a collection of paintings, stolen a decade ago.
The Westfries Museum says the case may involve art thieves with contacts at the highest political level in Ukraine.
But it says the Golden Age paintings are worth far less than is being demanded, and has offered a small fee for their return.
