'Bavaria is safe and robust' despite attacks, says minister

A failed Syrian asylum seeker has exploded a bomb outside a music festival in southern Germany, killing himself and wounding 12 other people.

The 27-year-old detonated explosives he carried in a backpack after being refused admission to the event in the city of Ansbach.

In the third violent attack in Bavaria in a week - but Germany's Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere told reporters the state was "safe and robust".
