Brexit: UK cannot cherry pick, EU negotiator says

EU negotiator Michel Barnier has warned the UK that it cannot "cherry pick" the Brexit deal it wants.

Speaking in Brussels, he also told reporters that "time will be short" for negotiations, because the proposed deal needed to be ratified as part of a two-year process.

If Prime Minister Theresa May triggers Article 50 in March, Mr Barnier suggested negotiations would be finished by October 2018.
