Russia's 'YouTube generation' and state control

Many of the Russians who took part in this week’s mass protests against corruption were teenagers.

That’s sparked debate in the country about a new, YouTube generation, which has grown up under Vladimir Putin but out of reach of his state-controlled media.

Most young Russians get their news via social media and the protests showed how effectively opposition activists are using those platforms to get their alternative message across.

The BBC's Sarah Rainsford spoke to Lyubov Sobol, who has launched an online news channel.
