Vimy Ridge: Canadian armed forces mark centenary

People gathered at sunset to remember the soldiers who lost their lives during the Battle of Vimy Ridge, in northern France, 100 years ago.

The Canadian Armed Forces, representing the four divisions which fought in the battle, conducted a military ceremony on the eve of commemorations.

Some 3,600 Canadian troops died and thousands more were wounded during the three days of fighting.
