Ireland's Taoiseach Leo Varadkar welcomes Brexit progress

Ireland's Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said that he is satisfied that conditions are in place for the next phase of Brexit negotiations to start.

What happens to the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland has been among the key sticking points in Brexit negotiations.

Mr Varadkar said his government would remain "fully engaged and vigilant" throughout the process.
