Lukashenko: 'You can choke on your sanctions in the UK'

Belarus's president has said Britain can "choke" on sanctions, in a rare televised press conference.

The UK and US are tightening sanctions on Belarus, hitting economic sectors.

When asked by the BBC's Sarah Rainsford about the latest British measures, President Alexander Lukashenko said: "You can go choke on your sanctions... You are American lapdogs!"
