Protests in Paris as Macron pushes through pension reform
Protests unfolded on the streets of Paris and inside the National Assembly building as the government pushed through a rise in retirement age.
Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne invoked article 49:3, a constitutional power that meant a vote on the move was not needed, avoiding a possible government defeat.
