Dublin riot: Sinn Féin leader criticises police response
Gardaí (Irish police) "lost control" of Dublin city centre during rioting on Thursday, the Sinn Féin leader has said.
Violence erupted after three children and a school care assistant were injured in a knife attack in the city centre several hours earlier.
Ms McDonald criticised Garda Commissioner Drew Harris's view that the rioting could not have been anticipated.
She said: "This was an unacceptable, unprecedented collapse in policing.
"The idea that this violence was unforeseeable is frankly nonsense."
She called on Mr Harris and Justice Minister Helen McEntee to resign.
