Evan Gershkovich: Russia and US in dialogue over jailed reporter, says Putin

Vladimir Putin was quizzed about two US citizens detained in Russia, journalist Evan Gershkovich from the Wall Street Journal and former marine Paul Whelan during a televised press conference.

In his answer, he called on the US to "listen" to Russia and to find a "mutually acceptable" outcome.

"It seems to me that on the whole we're speaking in a language which we both understand," he said.
