A technical expert has greeted the trapped miners underground in Chile.

Manuel Gonzalez Pavez, is the first rescue worker to reach the miners, after travelling down the rescue shaft in the Phoenix capsule.

The 33 men have been trapped about 700m (2,295ft) below ground since a tunnel collapse at the mine on 5 August.
