Hugo Chavez: What you need to know

Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez has undergone chemotherapy after having a tumour removed from his pelvic region.

Scant detail on the cancer, plus his absence from major events such as the UN General Assembly in New York, have sparked speculation that his condition may be worse than officially stated.

Mr Chavez, 57, has said his health problems will not stop him standing for re-election in October 2012, but will he be well enough to campaign and would he win?
