Cartoon paints Hugo Chavez as hero of crushed coup-plot

"April.02" is a Venezuelan animated short film - released 12 April - which recreates a failed military coup against Hugo Chavez that took place 10 years ago.

Bursting with rock music and action scenes, the docu-fiction transforms the Venezuelan President, his supporters and opponents into comic book characters.

But the film, made by the Venezuelan state TV channel, Vive, has caused controversy in the country for only telling the government's version of what happened during those 48 hours.
