Argentina commemorates 30th anniversary of Belgrano sinking

Memorial ceremonies have been held in Buenos Aires to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the sinking of the Belgrano warship by British forces during the Falklands War.

A total of 323 Argentines died when the Belgrano was torpedoed by a British nuclear submarine on 2 May 1982.

As survivors and relatives of the victims laid floral wreaths, many were moved to tears by memories of their loved ones.
