Mexico City unveils memorial to drugs war victims

A monument to the victims of Mexico's drugs war has been unveiled in Mexico City.

Built with $2.4m (£1.6m) of funds confiscated from drugs traffickers, it comprises 64 rusted steel panels, bearing quotes from famous writers, built around four reflective pools.

But the memorial has proved controversial - for its location, next to an army training ground, and for not naming any of the tens of thousands of people estimated to have died in the struggle.
