Life in the real Guantanamo Bay
Guantanamo Bay has become synonymous with the notorious US-run detention centre for terror suspects, located on an American naval base in south eastern Cuba.
But the base itself has a long history, founded at the start of the 20th century.
In its early years, many British West Indians travelled to Cuba to find work on the base and many ended-up staying on the island even after the 1959 revolution.
Today, in the Cuban towns around the US naval base, the former workers and their descendents still try to keep their language and traditions from home alive.
Sarah Rainsford went to meet some of them.
