Libya crisis: Gaddafi son 'killed in air strike'

A Nato air strike in the Libyan capital Tripoli has killed the youngest son of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, government officials have said.

After taking journalists to see the residential villa which was struck in the attack, a government spokesman told told them Colonel Gaddafi himself had been present but had escaped unharmed.

The BBC's Christian Fraser, reporting from Tripoli, said the destruction at the villa was so complete it was difficult to believe "anybody who was there could have come out alive".
