Clashes in Cairo as Mubarak trial begins
The trial of Egypt's ex-President Hosni Mubarak, who was forced from office by mass demonstrations in February, is under way in Cairo.
Demonstrators from both sides of the political divide have been gathering outside the police academy where he will be tried.
Mr Mubarak, who is accused of corruption and ordering the killing of protesters - an offence that carries the death penalty - denies the charges.
There have been some skirmishes, and hundreds of riot police have been deployed. Jon Leyne reports.
