Libyan NTC and Gaddafi loyalist troops clash in Tripoli
National Transitional Council forces have faced gun fire from troops loyal to Colonel Gaddafi in Tripoli, in the first serious confrontation in the capital since it fell to the NTC in August.
The fighting started after a demonstration by Gaddafi loyalists, near a notorious prison where political prisoners were held under the previous government.
NTC forces are also still battling to take control of Colonel Gaddafi's hometown of Sirte.
