Tear gas and violence in Cairo clashes
More than 210 people have been injured in clashes with police in Cairo's Tahrir Square, according to state TV.
Police fired rubber bullets and tear gas. Some demonstrators threw rocks, and a police vehicle was set on fire.
The protesters were out in force ahead of parliamentary elections in a few days' time.
They are angry about a draft constitution which would allow the military leadership to retain a lot of control.
