David Cameron: Syria's President Assad 'appalling'
David Cameron has described Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad's behaviour as "appalling", saying the leader has "lost the consent of his people".
Speaking to the Al Arabiya television channel, he praised the Arab League's "unity and steadfastness" in "bringing this issue to the world's attention... showing the United Nations, in my view, what needs to be done."
He also said Iran remained a "clear threat" because of its nuclear programme, saying it was right for the international community to "step up the pressure on Iran to take a different path".
