Palestinian Sesame Street halted

A decision by the US Congress to suspend the transfer of $200m (£130m) worth of aid for Palestinian development projects has put the Palestinian version of Sesame Street on hold.

The freeze - which has been criticised by US and Palestinian officials - was imposed in response to a Palestinian application for UN membership as a fully fledged state.

The US consulate in Jerusalem says the American administration has yet to decide if it will approve the resumption of the fund.
