New EU sanctions against Iran expected

EU foreign ministers are expected to approve new sanctions against Iran.

It is thought they will ban imports of Iranian crude oil, as well as target the country's central bank and gold trading.

There are concerns in the West that Tehran may be pursing a nuclear weapons programme - an accusation Iran denies.
