Protests continue ahead of Bahrain Grand Prix

Practice sessions ahead of the Formula One Grand prix of Bahrain on Sunday have gone ahead, but protests have continued in Manama with more scheduled near the circuit on raceday.

Force India are only doing a limited run in practice two because of safety fears. Four of the team members were caught in street battles on Wednesday and today there have been fresh demonstrations reported in Shia villages around the capital.

The Gulf kingdom's ruling royal family are being pressured to improve human rights and make reforms by the majority Shia population, who accuse the minority ruling Sunnis of discrimination.
