Bahrain protesters are 'peaceful', says former opposition MP
Tight security is in place in Bahrain, where drivers taking part in Sunday's Grand Prix are holding their practice sessions.
Local people demanding more democracy say the event is being used to generate good publicity for the country's repressive rulers.
Critics say the event should not be taking place but Dr Jasim Husain, a former Bahraini opposition MP, said the publicity is helping opponents of the regime.
