Siren warns of militant rocket attack

Israeli towns near the border with Gaza have a system of sirens in place to warn people if they are about to be hit by a rocket attack from across the border.

They are meant to give people time to find a sheltered place to take cover.

However, three Israelis died on Thursday when a four-storey building was hit in the town of Kiryat Malachi.

The BBC's Ben Brown spoke to a spokesman for the Israeli Home Front Command about the attack and how much warning the sirens actually give people.
